If 80% of success is our psychology, then the ability to understand the mental processes that power and fuel our mental state is a mission critical discipline to master.
Distractions can deplete you of your ability to bring out the best in yourself and those around you, so you need to strengthen your mindset to keep you on course. Navigating your way through the give and take world, means that you are challenged every day in how you show up as your best version.
Ten considerations to power your psychology;
1. Understand your psychology
Your psychology is your frame of mind and proficiency to fulfil your mission by enhancing and developing your focus, motivation and resilience.
Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind, character and personality. Your psychology matters – it has a significant ripple effect whether conscious or unconscious, on the people you interact with and serve.
2. Shift from knowing to understanding
Knowing and understanding are related concepts, but they are not the same. Each is a distinct mental state involving a cognitive grasp.
Knowing is static, it can sometimes be momentary and refers to discrete high-level facts and interpretations. Understanding on the other hand is a psychological process related to your mental and emotional state as a person and a leader. It is a more active process, displays a deeper and more integrated level and is likely to take longer to master.
3. Define your higher purpose
To show up as your best vibrant version and do your most excellent work, requires a clear understanding of your purpose and why.
Your purpose is a north star that elevates and expands your and others perspective. It’s like a defined moral and values orientated compass that keeps you resolute, consistent and mindful in universal wisdom.
4. Integrate a performance system
It is critical as a leader to define, integrate and customise a performance system and a set of concepts that can enhance, boost and elevate your psychology. Improving your psychology requires you to understand your emotions, thoughts and pre-conditioned behaviours.
For example, in a position of influence with an impulsive psychological state, could potentially be reactive, emotional, triggering and ill-prepared in how one responds, engages and influences to situations that arise.
5. Connecting your psychology to your higher purpose
By doing the inner work you can shift and strengthen your psychology to a more composed, assured and confident state. Connecting your sense of being to something much bigger than self, has an enormous multiplying effect that builds a powerful sense of trust, collaboration and sustaining energy.
6. Habits shape your identity ….
…. just as your identity shapes your habits – think about that for a minute. Small changes and adjustments in context can lead to significant changes in your behaviour over time.
The process of behaviour change always starts with awareness. Taking steps to build awareness of habitual practice, cultural environment and routine before you can build a sustainable performance system to transcend and elevate your impact.
7. Master your thoughts
The human brain is made up of about 100 billion neurons and generates a staggering 60’000 thoughts per day, according to the U.S. National Science Foundation.
The challenge we have is that nearly 80% of these thoughts are apparently negative and over 90% are repetitive. It is therefore critical that we make the investment to strengthen your psychology and integrate a performance system and awareness.
8. Watch your language
Like our thoughts, our words have transformative power, whether said out loud or as a near vibration. Negative vocabulary depletes, can be harmful and can fuel negative emotions and feelings.
It is within your gift to choose vocabulary that empowers, uplifts contribution and awakens possibility, words that have innate power to; inspire, expand, create, unite, build trust, show kindness, elevate joy and display empathy – use it!
9. Use mantra’s & visualisation to manifest
To shift our limiting beliefs and to provide us some leverage over our mindset, we can use and harness positive affirmations. Positive self-talk (strengthened even more by being spoken out loud) is like a meditative gift that can powerfully transcend perspective, boost will-power and breakthrough pre-conditioned patterns.
10. Be present and shift into now
Probably the most important and powerful gift you can give yourself and everyone you interact with.
When you are present there is no space for fear, self doubt or imposter syndrome – anger, frustration and resistance simply dissolve. Print energy has a different vibration, it releases us from judgement, opinion and
Be kind to yourself and remember when you’ve done your genuine best, that is good enough. Knowing this will help you to travel light and be grateful for the present gift of life.
This is your time …..
This is an extraordinary time of awakening for humankind…. and this is your time. It’s your time to inspire, your time to build trust and your time to be the change.
Step in to your possible and inspire others to realise theirs. The world needs your spirit, your creative genius and your courageous leadership.
Wishing you all green lights!
