One of the highest goals a leader can pursue is tranquility of mind.
A calm, serene mind is a portal into the virtues of clarity and purpose. We know that how we feel is how we see the world, so it’s important to be aware and take action on the energy field around and within us. Our sustained energy matters as a leader, how we show up makes a difference to the quality of performance, well-being, experience and possible outcomes.
We don’t have to look far to observe and experience; resistance to positive-change, lacklustre role models, self-centred ego-driven behaviour, negative energy, comparison and relentless noisy distractions to name just some. This negative energy self-indulgent behaviour only creates drama, demand on our time and can leave us feeling unfulfilled, exhausted, disappointed and joyless.
Before we know it we slip into a survival conditioned mindset characterised by; frustration, feeling drained, overloaded and stressed by the ulterior behaviours playing out in the Arena we live, work and perform in.
The revelation is we do have a choice. We can do the inner-work (small steps), we do have the discipline within to build positive habits, behaviour and routine, there are abundant sources of wisdom we can access (for free), we can change to a different path, we can connect with our super-power, we can say No, we can say Yes, we can choose a different peer group (tribe), we can recognise and walk through or towards our fear and we can transform by shifting our mindset.
We have the power-source within to choose how we fill our life with good energy and exciting possibility. The key is to make the courageous first small move, to ask for help and be open to fresh energy, wisdom and perspective.
Another way to frame it, is to think like an athlete, an outstanding performer or the best leader on the planet (other role models), by getting the story clear in our own mind and building a system that provides the tools and empowers us live our best life.
By taking the time to clarify our purpose and do the essential (habitual) inner-work, we have the power! We have the capability to; connect with our inner-leader mindset, to lead regardless of title, to be the force for transformative good on the planet, to choose to actively listen (and coach), to engage and go deep with our empathy and to lead and live with a tranquility of mind that provides the clarity and purpose to those we lead and love.
Imagine the positive impact we can have if we shift the energy field up a level in our; clarity, presence and pursuit of what’s possible. This power source and leadership style is available to each of us, if we are prepared to stay open and do the inner-work to keep on growing.
This is your time to step into your possible, and be the change your – Team, Community, Loved ones and Planet need (and deserve) to see!
